Sproutlings Childcare

Mission and Philosophy

Sproutlings is a family-owned childcare center located in New Providence, N.J. It became evident to the Shaheed family that there was a growing need for more flexible childcare options for local families. Sproutlings was born out of that desire to serve the needs of local families. Sproutlings provides a variety of choices in enrollment, extended hours, and a curriculum that allows children to fully engage in a range of educational activities. At Sproutlings, your child will explore, create, play and develop at his or her own pace with attention to the educational skills required for Kindergarten preparation and beyond.

Our Mission

The Sproutlings mission is to create a place where the whole family is welcomed, nutured and can grow and learn together. Children at Sproutlings are challenged and motivated to learn with daily opportunities to discover the world around them in state-of-the-art classrooms with materials and equipment carefully selected to encourage their natural curiosity and desire to learn from their surroundings.

A Well-Rounded Education

Sproutlings’ curriculum provides young children the opportunity to engage in a variety of hands-on learning activities, gaining skills in many content areas including literacy, science, math, art, and music. At the same time, our children are learning social skills, working together with their peers, gaining empathy and becoming part of a larger community.

At Sproutlings, we base our curriculum on play and free exploration; however, we also focus on the academic and social skills your child needs to acquire for later school success. Our small groups and low teacher-to-child ratios ensure each child gets the attention and care that is essential for early growth and development.

Supporting Your Family

While our primary focus is your child’s growth and development, Sproutlings provides an environment that supports the whole family. We provide a multitude of childcare choices from a few hours a day to full day care, summer programs, afterschool care and holiday programs, all designed to meet the many and changing childcare needs of your family. We also offer opportunities for parents to learn and socialize. We welcome parents to provide input and feedback through our Parent Committee, to attend classes on relevant topics in child rearing, and to attend social events where they can meet other parents in the community.
